J. Long
and Sons (Haulage) Ltd is a true family business formed in the
1920's by Joe Long, the grandfather of our present directors. The
company remains family controlled and is now in its fourth generation.

Our company aim is to provide a quality road haulage, storage and distribution service to all parts of the UK.
The main depot and head office is based at an 8 acre site in Leeds, ideally situated within close proximity to the new A1-M1 link road, providing easy access to all major roadways, towns and ports. April 2000 saw the opening of an additional depot in Hull - operating through direct link to the Leeds depot with all drivers and vehicles fully integrated into the working practices of the company.
Service
is provided by a fleet of 90 rigid and articulated vehicles,
mainly comprising of Daf XF 95 series 38 and 44 tonne units, all
of which are maintained in-house at our own purpose built
workshop where staff are on duty 24 hours a day.
The Company is fast growing and in general regarded as one of the area’s leading hauliers with ample scope for future development. Since 1998 we have been members of the Pall-Ex overnight pallet system, offering next day or economy distribution of pallets via the Pall-Ex Hub in Leicester. Members all have to operate to a Code of Practice to ensure that a Quality service is provided.
Throughout our history we have closely monitored the rise and fall of the industries we serve and carefully adapted our operation to suit the needs of our customers.
